【夏休みのお勉強】アイリッシュの曲名の英語を調べてみた

こんにちは！　語学学習が趣味のhataoです。

普段セッションでよく演奏しているけど、曲名の意味を聞かれたらよく知らないこと、ありますよね。

この機会に500曲あまりのタイトルから、あまり一般的ではない英単語を中心に拾って調べてみました。

今回の記事で意味を覚えて、セッションで話の種にしてみてください。

まとめ

いくつ知っていましたか？

こうして並べてみると、古いアイルランド社会で使われていた、農業や暮らし、政治、人物に関する単語が多く、現代では使わなくなってしまったり、違う意味になった言葉が多いことがわかります。

またアイルランド英語ですので、アメリカでは通じないものもあります。

曲名の意味がわかると、昔のアイルランドに思いをはせながら演奏することができ、曲を覚えるのがいっそう楽しくなりますね。
